...are the founders of Amparo International. After 20 years of doing "short-term" missions trips to Central America, the Ellingson's joined Engineering Ministries International (EMI) as staff in the fall of 2015. In February of 2016, they moved to Managua, Nicaragua to serve in establishing EMI's new Latin American Office. Brent served with EMI for almost 3 years, the final year as office's Director. Sensing that God was calling them in a new direction, Brent left EMI to establish Amparo International together with Michelle. 

 

Brent and Michelle are from Maple Ridge, BC, Canada, a community about an hour east of Vancouver. They have been married for 35 years and have 5 sons, of which 4 are married, and 4 grandchildren! Before moving to Nicaragua, Brent had established and run his own building and development company, while Michelle passionately poured her life into her family.
